Dr. Neha Rajpal is a board-certified Internal Medicine physician specializing in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Gastro Center of Maryland. Trained at several of the nation’s leading academic medical institutions, Dr. Rajpal combines evidence-based medicine with a compassionate, patient-centered approach to care. Dr. Rajpal earned her medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine, where she was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Medical Honor Society in recognition of her academic achievement, leadership, and commitment to service. She completed her Internal Medicine residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, consistently ranked among the top hospitals in the United States, where she developed extensive experience managing complex medical conditions and providing high-quality inpatient care.

She subsequently completed her fellowship training in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the University of Virginia Health System, a nationally recognized academic medical center. During fellowship, Dr. Rajpal participated in peer-reviewed research focused on alcohol-related liver disease and received the prestigious Mulholland Teaching Award in recognition of her outstanding contributions to medical student education and mentorship.

Dr. Rajpal performs diagnostic and therapeutic colonoscopy, upper endoscopy (EGD), video capsule endoscopy, and comprehensive liver disease evaluation and management. She treats a broad range of gastrointestinal and hepatologic conditions, including colorectal cancer screening, inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis), gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), peptic ulcer disease, gastrointestinal bleeding, hepatitis, fatty liver disease, and cirrhosis.

In addition to her clinical interests in gastroenterology and hepatology, Dr. Rajpal has a special interest in nutrition, metabolic health, and obesity medicine as they relate to gastrointestinal and liver disease. She is pursuing board certification in Obesity Medicine and is particularly interested in the management of obesity-related digestive disorders, metabolic dysfunction–associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD), and the gastrointestinal effects of emerging weight-loss therapies.
