Dr. Zhang completed her Internal Medicine residency at the University of Maryland Medical Center before working as an attending physician, teaching residents at MedStar Washington Hospital Center/Georgetown University Hospital. She then pursued subspecialty training in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at George Washington University Hospital, where she served as Chief Fellow.
Dr. Zhang is committed to providing up-to-date and evidence-based care for a wide range of gastrointestinal conditions, with a special clinical interest in colon cancer screening and prevention through community outreach. Her experience as an intensivist, where she witnessed firsthand the consequences of limited health literacy and lack of preventive care, shaped her dedication to individualized patient care and prevention. She empowers her patients through collaboration and education, ensuring they are active participants in their health journey.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Zhang has authored numerous publications and has delivered oral presentations at national and international conferences. She is an active member of several professional societies such as the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA), the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG), and the Chinese American Gastroenterological Association (CAGA). Outside of medicine, Dr. Zhang enjoys spending time with her family and friends and is a devoted bubble tea connoisseur.
